“When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the lights, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.” Tecumseh
As we know, I finally worked up the courage to commence this journey last Monday. Prior to beginning, I had to conduct some research and extensive planning. One of my main first steps was to create a blog title. Of course, as I planned out the beginning stages of this blog I was absolutely sure that I wanted a cute, trendy or girly title.
I created multiple titles that did not necessarily make a strong impact on me. They also did not have any connections to my current life events. When I realized that trying to create a typical blog title was not matching my expectations I decided that I should simply play with words, sayings or lyrics that have meaning to me.
Then there it was; Au Jour Le Jour…Day by Day! This was perfect and it could not be any more accurate. Having taken the leap to remove myself from my negative work environment means that I will be moving forward by taking it day by day. I will be continuing with my blog by taking it day by day because I am not educated about blogging beyond my personal research and I will be learning as I go. Mainly, searching for the perfect new job will be a process that must be taken day by day.
So as it is perfectly fitting to my current life situations, Au Jour Le Jour was created and I must give thanks for the push I received to finally work on something I truly wanted for myself. Rather than being upset, stressed or saddened with the situation that I escaped from, I rather give thanks for being placed in that situation.
The experience has allowed me to expand my knowledge in certain areas. It has allowed me to take steps forward for my personal well-being. And here I am now, writing another blog post and feeling good about what is to come.
So let’s not forget that this month’s goals are to;
1) Practice self-care
2) Indulge in your hobbies
3) If you are unhappy in a situation it is okay to remove yourself from it
4) Write down a few goals you would like to achieve
5) Push yourself to accomplish something you have been hesitating to do

One aspect of my life that I know for a fact that I do not have to take day by day is my attire. I have always had the ability to plan my outfits ahead of time. Knowing that I will have interviews coming up within the next few months, I have taken it upon myself to prep my interview pieces. I am loving the plaid trend and I am incorporating it in many of my current pieces.
I photographed this look as a casual look however it can also be a dressier look. Of course I do not plan to interview in sneakers, so this preppy look will be perfect to match with a pair of pumps.
